Privacy Policy for fiYou

Last updated: August 28, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how personal data is handled when you use the fiYou mobile application ("fiYou", "the App" or "App").

fiYou is designed with a privacy-first architecture. The App does not operate a developer-controlled backend for storing users' financial data. Your financial information is stored primarily on your device and, where enabled, in your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit services.

Please read this Privacy Policy together with the fiYou Terms of Use.

1. Data Controller

Data Controller:
Mindaugas Latvenas
Lithuania
Email: info@fiyou.app

For purposes of the European Union General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR"), Mindaugas Latvenas is the data controller for personal data processed in connection with the operation of fiYou, to the extent that applicable law considers such processing to be carried out by the developer.

fiYou does not operate its own backend database for storing your financial information.

2. What Data fiYou Handles

fiYou is designed to minimize the collection of personal data.

Depending on the features you use, the App may handle information that you enter or create, including:

  • financial goals and goal-related information;
  • assets and liabilities;
  • budgets and spending plans;
  • insurance-related information;
  • savings information;
  • financial calculations and projections;
  • notes and other information you choose to enter;
  • household-sharing information;
  • app settings and preferences; and
  • backup or export data created by you.

Some of this information may constitute financial information or other personal data depending on its content and the circumstances in which you use the App.

fiYou does not require you to provide your name, email address, telephone number, postal address, bank account credentials, payment card details, or other directly identifying information in order to use the core financial-planning functionality of the App.

If you voluntarily provide identifying information within the App, that information is handled in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

3. Where Your Data Is Stored

fiYou is designed to operate without a developer-operated backend for your financial data.

Information you enter into fiYou may be stored:

  1. 1.Locally on your device, within the App; and
  2. 2.In your personal iCloud account, where iCloud synchronization is enabled.

fiYou uses Apple's CloudKit services to synchronize supported data between your Apple devices and to provide household-sharing functionality.

CloudKit is an Apple service that stores structured application data in iCloud containers. Apple provides security and access-control mechanisms for CloudKit data.

fiYou does not have access to the contents of your private iCloud database through a developer-operated server.

Where fiYou uses CloudKit's private or shared databases, access to the stored data is controlled through Apple's iCloud and CloudKit infrastructure.

Apple's handling of information associated with your Apple account and iCloud services is governed by Apple's own terms and privacy policies.

Apple Privacy Policy

4. Household Sharing

fiYou may allow you to share selected financial information with another person through Apple's CloudKit sharing functionality.

If you invite another person to share fiYou data:

  • the information you choose to share may be stored in a CloudKit shared database;
  • the person you invite may receive access to the shared information;
  • you control which information you choose to share, subject to the functionality provided by the App and Apple; and
  • you may revoke sharing or remove participants using the sharing controls available in fiYou.

You should only share financial information with people you trust.

fiYou does not independently sell, rent, or provide your shared financial information to advertisers or data brokers.

5. Apple Services Used by fiYou

fiYou uses Apple-provided technologies and services necessary to provide its functionality, including:

iCloud / CloudKit

Used for:

  • storing supported fiYou data in iCloud;
  • synchronizing data between your Apple devices; and
  • household sharing.

StoreKit

Used to process and restore subscriptions and in-app purchases through Apple's App Store infrastructure.

fiYou does not receive or store your payment card number or other payment credentials used to purchase subscriptions through the App Store.

UserNotifications

Used to deliver local notifications that you choose to enable.

Notifications are generated by the App and are not used by fiYou for advertising or behavioral tracking.

WidgetKit

Used to provide fiYou widgets on supported Apple devices.

Widgets may display information that you have chosen to make available through the widget functionality.

Apple Account / iCloud identity

Certain Apple services may use information associated with your Apple account or iCloud account to authenticate you or provide sharing functionality.

fiYou does not use this information for advertising or behavioral profiling.

Apple's processing of information through its services is governed by Apple's own privacy practices and applicable Apple terms.

Apple Privacy Policy

6. What fiYou Does Not Collect

fiYou does not use:

  • third-party advertising SDKs;
  • advertising networks;
  • analytics SDKs;
  • behavioral tracking SDKs;
  • cross-app tracking technologies;
  • third-party data brokers;
  • location tracking;
  • contact-list collection;
  • photo-library collection for analytics or advertising; or
  • third-party services that collect your financial information for advertising or profiling.

fiYou does not sell, rent, or otherwise commercially disclose your financial information to third parties.

fiYou also does not use your financial information for targeted advertising.

7. Analytics and Tracking

fiYou does not use third-party analytics or advertising services to build individual user profiles.

fiYou does not track your activity across other companies' apps or websites for advertising purposes.

If this changes in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated before or when such processing is introduced, and any legally required consent or permission will be obtained.

8. Legal Bases for Processing

Where the GDPR applies, the legal basis for processing depends on the nature of the processing.

Depending on the circumstances, processing may be based on:

  • Performance of a contract — where processing is necessary to provide the fiYou functionality you request;
  • Legitimate interests — where processing is necessary for legitimate purposes such as maintaining, securing, improving, and supporting the App, provided that those interests are not overridden by your rights and freedoms;
  • Consent — where applicable law requires your consent; and
  • Legal obligations — where processing is necessary to comply with a legal obligation.

Most financial information entered into fiYou is stored locally on your device or in your iCloud account rather than in a developer-operated database.

Apple may process information through iCloud, CloudKit, App Store, and related services under Apple's applicable terms, policies, and contractual arrangements.

9. Subscriptions and Payments

fiYou may offer paid subscriptions such as Standard or Pro.

Subscriptions are purchased through Apple's App Store.

fiYou does not process or store your payment card information.

Apple processes payment information, billing, subscription management, and related transaction information in accordance with Apple's applicable terms and privacy policy.

For information about Apple's handling of payment and account information, please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy.

10. Data Retention

fiYou does not maintain a developer-operated database containing your financial information.

Your fiYou data may remain:

  • on your device until you delete it;
  • in your iCloud account until it is deleted or removed from iCloud; and
  • in a shared iCloud/CloudKit environment for as long as the relevant sharing relationship and data remain active.

You control your fiYou financial data.

Where supported by the App, you can delete your fiYou data using:

Menu → Reset → Reset All Data

This is intended to remove fiYou data stored locally and, where technically supported, the corresponding fiYou data stored through iCloud/CloudKit.

Because iCloud is an Apple service, deletion and retention of information maintained by Apple may also be subject to Apple's systems, policies, and technical processes.

Important: uninstalling fiYou does not necessarily delete data already stored in iCloud.

If you uninstall the App without first deleting your iCloud data through the App, you may need to manage the relevant iCloud storage through your Apple account settings.

11. Data Export and Portability

fiYou may provide a backup or export function allowing you to export information you have entered into the App.

Where available, you can use:

Menu → Backup

to create an export or backup of your fiYou data.

The availability and format of exported data may depend on the current version of the App.

Under applicable data-protection laws, you may also have a legal right to data portability where the relevant legal conditions are satisfied.

Apple also provides mechanisms for users to access and manage data stored through iCloud and CloudKit.

12. Your Privacy Rights

If the GDPR or another applicable data-protection law applies to you, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data.

Depending on your circumstances and applicable law, these may include:

  • Right of access — to request information about personal data processed about you;
  • Right to rectification — to correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data;
  • Right to erasure — to request deletion of personal data where the legal requirements are satisfied;
  • Right to restriction of processing — to request that processing be restricted in certain circumstances;
  • Right to data portability — to receive certain personal data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format;
  • Right to object — to object to certain processing based on legitimate interests or other applicable grounds;
  • Right to withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent; and
  • Right to lodge a complaint with a competent data-protection supervisory authority.

Some rights may not apply in every situation or may be subject to legal exceptions.

Because fiYou does not maintain a developer-operated database containing your financial information, many requests concerning the actual storage of financial data may need to be managed directly through your device, the App, or your Apple/iCloud account.

For privacy-related questions or requests concerning processing for which Mindaugas Latvenas is the controller, contact:

info@fiyou.app

13. Supervisory Authority

If you are located in Lithuania, you may lodge a complaint with the State Data Protection Inspectorate (Valstybinė duomenų apsaugos inspekcija – VDAI).

State Data Protection Inspectorate (VDAI)

If you are located in another EEA country, you may generally contact the data-protection supervisory authority in your country of residence or the country where you believe your rights have been infringed.

14. Data Security

fiYou is designed to minimize the amount of personal data that is accessible to the developer.

Financial information is primarily stored on your device and, where enabled, through Apple's iCloud/CloudKit infrastructure.

Apple provides security mechanisms for CloudKit, including account-based access controls and encryption capabilities for supported data.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Apple account, device, passcode, and other credentials used to access your data.

No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

15. International Data Processing

fiYou may be used by people around the world.

fiYou itself does not operate a developer-controlled backend for storing users' financial data.

However, Apple and its affiliated entities may process information through iCloud, CloudKit, App Store, and other Apple services in accordance with Apple's privacy policy and applicable legal requirements.

Accordingly, information associated with your use of Apple services may be processed in countries other than the country in which you live.

For information about Apple's international data practices, please refer to:

Apple Privacy Policy

16. Children's Privacy

fiYou is not directed at children under the age of 13.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through a developer-operated backend.

If you believe that a child under 13 has provided personal information to us directly, please contact us at:

info@fiyou.app

We will take reasonable steps, consistent with applicable law and the technical architecture of fiYou, to address the situation.

Where a child's information is stored through Apple services, deletion may also need to be managed through the child's Apple/iCloud account and Apple's applicable procedures.

Nothing in this section is intended to limit any higher minimum age or additional protections required by the laws of a particular country or region.

17. Third-Party Services and Links

fiYou may contain links or references to services operated by third parties, including Apple.

Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

fiYou is not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties outside the developer's control.

We recommend reviewing the privacy policy of any third-party service before using it.

18. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect:

  • changes to fiYou's functionality;
  • changes in the way data is handled;
  • changes to Apple or other third-party services;
  • changes in applicable law; or
  • security, technical, or operational improvements.

When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy.

Where required by applicable law, material changes will be communicated through the App or by other appropriate means.

Your continued use of fiYou after the effective date of an updated Privacy Policy will be subject to the updated policy to the extent permitted by applicable law.
